I'm an Aunt!!!

Hello all,

Well it has been more than a few months since I last graced the internet with my ramblings. However much has been happening, not to mention the birth of Felix Donald Melchior. My nephew.

Now I'm sure many people think that my slight obsession with the birth of young Felix (aka. Peanut) is well, a little nutty. After all he is my brother's son, and he will have a large number of aunts and uncles courtesy of my sister-in-law. However I have only one brother, and therefore only one source of nephews and nieces.

I want to be the doting, slightly eccentric aunt who swoops in from time to time to take my brother's children off on exciting holidays. Only to return them at the end of it all. I like the image it creates in my mind. There is also something very satisfying about knowing that my family, in one way or another, will go on. There is another generation and even though the world that we live in is somewhat messed up and not with out its very great faults I know that this child will be surrounded by love and education and opportunity.

So welcome to my family Felix. I'm looking forward to watching you grow.
